When they sent BOOST into space, adidas made their interests in astronomy ever-clear. And now, quite a few months thereafter, their passions are bearing further fruit as they’ve officially partnered with NASA to present a wealth of space-themed releases. Following a pack of NMDs, the Men's/Women's Adidas 4D is joining the flight roster, dressed in a palette intentionally futuristic.
At a glance, the sock-like model appears like a distant cousin of the Yeezy Boost 380. Adidas 4D Shoes Primeknit uppers feature seemingly haphazard detailing all-throughout, with plastic piping along the profiles serving functionality and a futuristic aesthetic. And while eye-catching in its own right, the tooling is overshadowed by the robust, previously-unseen-from-the-Three-Stripes sole unit. The inaugural arrangement dips the exaggerated supportive plate between upper and midsole into a vibrant pink, while the lattice-style cushioning indulges in a white and orange gradient.
Adidas 4D Sale Despite being preoccupied with 50th and fifth anniversaries for two of its most important silhouettes, the adidas Superstar and adidas Ultra Boost, the Three Stripes has demonstrated its commitment towards the widespread adoption of its 3D-printed cushioning. At the forefront of those endeavors?: The Ultra 4D, which launches in a fan-favorite “Core White” ensemble. Reminiscent of cream iterations first seen at the height of the Ultra Boost’s popularity, the forthcoming pair features the five-year-old design’s beloved Primeknit pattern throughout its upper.
The collaboration repurposes the frame oft-employed in the past, though with a few premium tweaks. Buy Adidas 4D While the upper may be knitted primarily out of white — and also accented with tongues, collars, and linings dressed similarly neutral — the embroideries atop allude to something far more expensive as they’re overlaid across the entire shoe in gold finish. The trefoils branded onto the tongue are executed similarly, while the 3D printed tooling prefers to complement with a soft yellowing.
Throughout the Primeknit frame, a light grey covers all throughout, mixing in both dark and light variations. Shop Adidas 4D At the toe box, the 1.0 weave pattern sits to the delight of long-time fans, while the cages at the side and the support at the heel subtly contrast in a metallic silver. Branding, aside from the neutral-tinged stripes at the profile, are emblazoned with a Red Fluorescent at the counter and a bright blue at the tongue’s NASA insignia. Soles, which lattice in classic 4D fashion, then finish dark to complement its upper.
